I've got 9.1 Pro on a Compaq Presario 2800T. I've just done a recent re-install (don't ask) and I'm trying to get my D-Link card up and running again. I've bought the Linuxant driverloader and have it installed correctly (this has worked successfully before) and I can go as far as my wireless router (D-Link DI-524) and that's it. I'm pretty sure I have all of my setup options correct in the card settings in YaST. However, when I boot the computer and watch the details during boot, I notice the computer seems to want the ethernet port to work. I get this message Waiting for mandatory device eth-id-00:08:02:62:32:5f (it counts down and then fails). Does this impact my use of the wireless card? Do I have to make a change to something I'm unaware of? Thanks Jack

Go into Yast>Network Devices>Network Card and disable the ethernet card. Unless you need to run them both at the same time, that's the easiest way to get around that problem. ra

I definitely don't need them to run them both at the same time, but I will need to have the eth port available when I go to school (at least until I can get it to work with the wireless lan at school). What's the harder way to fix this? I remember changing something before with eth0up or down or something like that.
