I have a Toshiba Satellite (laptop) running SuSE 8.2. I have a PCMCIA serial modem card (ttyS0) on which I have dialup pppd working fine. I have a second modem (actually my mobile phone - Motorola V60i) which must connect as a USB modem (ttyUSB0). When I connect the USB modem I am able to dialout manually just fine using minicom, however I see in the syslog that when I start minicom, it makes several calls to resmgr (I just can't see what the calls are). When I use pppd with scripts that work just fine against ttyS0, pppd gets no response from the USB modem. I suspect resmgr is at fault, I suspect it is denying access to pppd. Does anyone know what is needed to get pppd working with a USB modem in the context of resmgr? In the interest of brevity I have omitted the various logs, but if you think you can help and want to take a peek, I'll be happy to forward various snippets and examples. Michael
