Is there any free/cheap utility on Linux (or even whatever) which can be used to rotate an AVI movie 90 degrees? (Yesterday I recorded an AVI in "portrait mode" by tilting the camera 90 degrees, but naturally the final AVI "lies down" in "landscape mode" and I would like to correct that.) !++ ! There may be scripts that will break avi movies into frames, but you may need to convert to mpg first. Then rip the mpg apart into frames, rotate all frames 90 degrees, reassemble into mpg aniamtion, then convert back to AVI. There are free scripts out there to do it, if you can find them. MPG ripper software is floating around out there, I even have a crude c program that does it command line in dos. (The real glory of dosemu shows up.) Like I said, software may be available to do this, like some $89 Movie editing software. Heck Gimp may do it, it is getting quite advanced. Gimp will do the frames rotation, perl could do it for sure with the right modules. Look for "cmpeg, dmpeg, mpgsplit" I can email you an old dos copy off the net, if you need further help.
