Try accessing this IP address from one of the Win98 machines by typing it in your browser location bar: 204.152.190.71 If you get the AltaVista home page, as you should, but you can't then get the same page with www.altavista.com, then you have a DNS problem. While connected, if you can 'ping www.altavista.com' successfully from the Linux box, then the problem is somewhere between the Linux server and the Win98 boxes.
