I thought I was experiencing deja vu so i had to check the archives ... Yesterday I replied ...
There should be another version of synaptic in suse-people or extra that does away with that. I asked this question a few weeks ago and Richard Bos responded off list to just upgrade it. I think a programmer was having a little fun.
Today I'll reply Richard told me to update it and it made the cryptic message go away. I upgraded synaptic to 0.43.2-rb1 and the messages have stopped. I think the only way you'll find out what it means is to talk to the programmer who added that code. There is an apt mailing list where they probably got to the bottom of this but I'm not sure of the address. I know it's on the apt4SuSE site. HTH -- Franklin Maurer Using SuSE 8.2 Pro
