I have an HP 6200C scanner. I set it up with Yast, and edited the /etc/sane.d/hp.conf file so that it could be used with USB. I have two questions: 1) The aforementioned config file says I only need to uncomment those lines if I'm NOT using usblib, but I can't find any info on what that is. What is it? 2) It works as root, but I can't get access to that scanner as a regular user. I've checked to see that the devices are all in /etc/logindevperm, but there must be a device that's not in there that I need. Does anyone know what that might be? Thanks, dk

I found I had to uncomment the second line of /etc/sane.d/dll.conf for net access, though I'm using a parallel port scanner. If you're using a USB scanner, configuring through YaST2 may be easier. -- JDL Non enim propter gloriam, diuicias aut honores pugnamus set propter libertatem solummodo quam Nemo bonus nisi simul cum vita amittit.
