xtreme1 sendmail[24567]: SAA24566: forward /home/icarus/.forward.xtreme1: Group writable directory xtreme1 sendmail[24567]: SAA24566: forward /home/icarus/.forward: Group writable directory
are the messages in my syslog, but the files mentioned don't exist. I've looked in my /etc/aliases, that file isn't world-writeable either. What could be the problem?
Sendmail complains about the permissions of one of the directories in the path in which it searches for the .forward file. Check the permissions of /home and /home/icarus. Group writable home directories are considered insecure because someone else than the owner could create or delete configuration files like .forward.
