If yes, just wanted to confirm if you fellas are getting this CPIO bad magic error the result of which is a broken system and incomplete installs!! Lets see..I just found that YOU is offering a Security Update for CPIO. Will post back the result in some time. Also, what package manager would you suggest? Smart? How efficient is that? The one that comes with YaST is good too. But then apt-get is what I have liked all the way. apt-get on Debian. slapt-get on Slackware and now... apt-get on SuSE. -- http://mckagan.googlepages.com

I use SMART for the most part. YaST seems to do a better job of showing me what I have on my system, but YOU is broken AFAIK, so I don't bother with it. I used apt-get and the Synaptic GUI along with URPMI on Mandrake 6 when I had that on my old P166 laptop. However, YOU (used to be) far more elegant. I like SMart right now, but it has some need for refinement. I'm just a newbie, however, so don't take my word for it. -- Kai Ponte www.perfectreign.com || www.4thedadz.com remember - a turn signal is a statement, not a request

I use apt-get for SUSE 10.0 and don't have any problems. My sources.list has just the DVD, SUSE updates, packman, and suser-guru, nothing else. In particular, I don't use suser-rbos since I had some version problems when I installed apt tools from there, and never found the time to investigate that. Just today came updates for qt3 (SUSE security) and w32codec-all (packman). Cheers, Joachim PS: Well, there is a problem with the rpmkey package from Packman not installing the GPG keys properly, but I was able to patch that locally. -- =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Joachim Schrod Email: jschrod@acm.org Roedermark, Germany
