Re: [S.u.S.E. Linux] Newbie: Upgrading KDE.
Thanks for the previous help on installing ppp. I ended up doing a complete re-install and using kppp.
Anyway, I have another question. I downloaded all the updates for KDE from the suse ftp site, but am having trouble installing them. I have tried everything from kpackage, xrpm and rpm. I even tried yast's update thingy but I couldn't get it to recognise the directory where I had the updates. I figured (rightly or wrongly) that the Yast update tool only works for whole distributions and not just to say update KDE. Is this right? Well, I had problems getting it installed myself, but with help from the group I got it going. I had to uninstall KDE. I used YaST to do it (delete packages) and then install. (install packages) Install QT first then (if I'm not wrong) the libs, main and the others. It should work for ya.
