Re: [SLE] signal out of range fixed
If this means that you cannot see anything at all during the entire boot process AND your SuSE < 8.1 at then ignore this. If you can at least see the countdown (which is done at low-res) then choose Linux failsafe mode. This will give you a command-line login. Login as root and edit the file /boot/grub/menu.lst. Change the first instance of "vga=XXXX" to "vga=normal" (right below "title linux"). Run sax2 -l (low resolution) and change the graphics settings. Rebootski Ok thats better then it was. The console text is still a bit too big but i got xwindows looking pretty good. i got it to boot this time then then what you said in fail safe mode. then rebooted an the console text was a bit too big but then i ran startx an entered xwindows an ran yast2 an adjusted the properties for the monitor under xwindows an chose LCD at 1280 x 1024 70 Hz i think an it looks nice when i'm workng in xwindows. This is a nice monitor from CTX. its the CTX 700 lcd model. I would recommend this one for anyone looking for a good LCD monitor. jack
