X server won't shut down

Whenever I log out of KDE to the console, I do not get a prompt - it stops at "Waiting for X server to shut down". Then it just hangs there. Ctrl-Alt-Bksp doesn't help either. I end up rebooting the machine. Can someone give me a clue as to what to look for? I used to get the same thing under 7.3 I used to get out of this situation by pressing Ctrl-C. -- Patrick Heffernan <skippy_au@in.com.au> Linux User: 138122 Queensland - Australia
