Just installed 8.0. Sendmail is not accepting connections from anywhere except localhost. There is nothing blocking mail in /etc/hosts.deny. The firewall is not running. Sendmail is running. I can telnet localhost 25 and issue HELO When I try and do this from any other host, even host on the same LAN segment, I get connection refused. Nothing is logged anywhere that I can find. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks, CC

If you are running the SuSEfirewall and did 'rcSuSEfirewall stop' you input policy is still deny and only loopback traffic is allowed. What does ipchains -L -n or, if you are using iptables, iptables -L -n say? -- -ckm
hello, Check the /etc/sysconfig/mail... # # Set this to "yes" if mails from remote should be accepted # this is necessary for any mail server. # If set to "no" or empty the only mails from localhost # are accepted. # SMTPD_LISTEN_REMOTE="no"
