ppp-up will update you /etc/resolv.conf file when you connect. Look at that script (/etc/ppp/ip-up).
ok, I figured, just ona side note, for some reason resolve.conf resides in my /etc/ppp/ folder ? is this ok ? it installed that way.
I'd suggest setting up a caching only named. See the DNS howto for really easy instructions.
Thats what I figured. also I have been looking at some generic firewall scripts which use ipchains. which I understand a bitmroe and have mroe freedome over however they are menat to replace rc.firewall. how if so will this affect SuSE firewall. the current rc.firewall seems to be a config for another script. I assume /sbin/SuSEfirewall I think I would reather configure one myself which I actually understand. -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
