[opensuse] XGL video issue
So I got XGL working with Beryl and Compiz. I am using Beryl by default and my videos in kaffeine and xine, well vids in general. They are very laggy and it slows down my cursor. Well when I was using simply KDE, my vids were fine, under Beryl, slows down. Kaffeine will only operate in opengl move. Also, I have irritating borders around every menu and window. How do I turn it off? Is it possible to get the full XGl/Compiz effect without Beryl or Emerald. By effects I mean the 3D cube and ability to rotate and also the 3D Desk that causes the windows to appear 3D? Thanks all. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Use beryl-manager to switch to kwin when playing videos. Well when I was using simply KDE, my vids were fine, under

Turn off all KDE's shadow and animation effects from kcontrol, you will have to dig a bit in there. Is it

Yes, if you use compiz and kde-window-decorator too, but not without compiz or beryl -J -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Be sure Xgl is started with -accel xv:pbuffer. If you're running open source drivers, you're currently out of luck, pbuffers are not yet supported.

This *is* what compiz / beryl do...
