[opensuse] LVM volume freezes server when forced check on boot
Hi Everybody, I have got this server with a regular IDE as boot device plus two extra IDE drives on a single LVM volume, everything has been fine running Suse 11.1 and I have had a couple of reboots for maintenance (not hardware related), but then it came the time to get one of those fsck on boot forced due to 60 something days without check, it only goes up to 39% and then stops and freezes the machine, I have booted on rescue mode and rem out the entry on fstab, booted up okay, after that I mount the volume manually and everything is there, then I unmount it and try to run fsck on the volume and again freezes the machine and I have to hard reset. I ran smartctl and the errors reported on the log are most likely due to the past times booting up and not completing the fsck check. Any ideas of what this could be? any bug? I am running OpenSuse 11.1, linux-0691.2.6.27.7.9-pae, 4 gb on ram, drives are 67.41 and 74.52GB. PVscan, vgscan, lvdisplay report no problems with the PVs or LV. Any hints would be welcome Thanks, Jose -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
