Has anyone elso gotten a HP Dekjet to working properly with SuSE 6.0? I can print with mine, but it prints it in landscape mode and extremely small, I am wondering if there is something I can do to fix this. -- To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e Check out the SuSE-FAQ at <A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/</A">http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/</A> and the archive at <A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html</A">http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html</A>
When you print plain text (eg., lpr file.txt), the printer filters the file through a2ps to print two columns landscape. Read: /usr/doc/packages/aps/doc/methods I think you can use: lpr -Praw file.txt To skip a2ps -- Rafael Herrera Laboratory for Computational Neuroscience University of Pittsburgh <A HREF="http://www.neuronet.pitt.edu/~raffo</A">http://www.neuronet.pitt.edu/~raffo</A> -- To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e Check out the SuSE-FAQ at <A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/</A">http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/</A> and the archive at <A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html</A">http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html</A>

I have a DJ500, and it works fine just as yast set it up. My only oddity, is I need to use " lpr -Praw textfile", to print plain ascii text without stairsteps. Maybe you have a jumper set on the printer to use landscape mode? -- To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e Check out the SuSE-FAQ at <A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/</A">http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/</A> and the archive at <A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html</A">http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html</A>
Hi, check out /etc/apsfilterrc there is an option there "2n". Change it to "1n" -alexm

Go to /etc/apsfilterrc and look in there, about 700f the way through the file, section 7. There is probably a line like: FEATURE=2n Change this to: FEATURE=1n The instructions on why/how are just above this section in the file. I'm running SuSE 5.3, but it is doubtless the same. Paul M.
