Where has the (patched) kernel soruces gone
They are normally present in ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/people/mantel/next, but it's no longer possible to access this directory. ------------------------------------------------- Bo Jacobsen e-mail: bjc@image.dk

Not sure actually. Hubert is on vacation right now which might have something to do with it. I'll let the list know when I find out. -- -ckm
This is Hubert Mantel's private directory on the ftp server. I guess he decided that he didn't want to keep his current work there because to many people figured out that the pkgs existed there. Also, I would think that he's going to release a .18 kernel soon for most of the releases. In any event. It wasn't a public directory..so Hubert probably nixed the contents. :) * Bo Jacobsen (subs@systemhouse.dk) [020327 07:49]: ->They are normally present in ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/people/mantel/next, but it's ->no longer possible to access this directory. -> ->------------------------------------------------- ->Bo Jacobsen ->e-mail: bjc@image.dk -> -> ->-- ->To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com ->For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com ->Also check the archives at http://lists.suse.com -> -=Ben --=====-----=====-- mailto:ben@whack.org --=====-- "I've never been quarantined. Is there an official location, from where updated SuSE kernels can be downloaded ?. Bo

The official updates for kernels and other such packages are always and always will be here: ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/i386/update/<your revision of SuSE>/kernel/ The kernels in Hubert's directory are for other developers to use and to test. Sometime ago it leaked that Hubert put his test kernels here and since then many people have started to use them. These kernels are not supported and are not sanctioned by SuSE in anyway, shape or form. If it's in /pub/people it's a use at your own risk type of thing. :) Cheers! And this wasn't just directed at Bo..it's an FYI for everyone. * Bo Jacobsen (subs@systemhouse.dk) [020402 09:17]: ::Is there an official location, from where updated SuSE kernels can ::be downloaded ?. -=Ben --=====-----=====-- mailto:ben@whack.org --=====-- "I've never been quarantined.
