Hello all, Have any of you experienced weird things with Quake3 after upgrading from 6.3 to 6.4? My sound is all hosed and I downloaded an upgrade for OSS that is SuSE 6.4 specific and it's still hosed. I have reinstalled Quake3 twice and it still acts all kludge. Everything else seems to work perfect..well, accept for the iqplugin for XMMS..but I am working on that. Any thoughts would be great! Mine works fine, but I've dropped OSS and I'm using the ALSA sound modules. - Herman On Wed, 26 Apr 2000, Ben Rosenberg wrote: ->>Hello all, ->> ->> Have any of you experienced weird things with Quake3 after upgrading ->>from 6.3 to 6.4? Well, the only reason I asked was because Quake worked before the upgrade and now it doesn't I didn't know if it would be something that had to do with the upgrade. I have been using OSS drivers for while and I never had any problems. *shrug* Any other thoughts would be great! Regards, Herman Knief wrote:

I have installed the Mozilla fonts that were referred to earlier on the mailing list, but when I choose them at the recommended 15 pt. size in Netscape 4.72, they are enormous. Even at the lowest possible choice of 9 pt. they are too big. The installation went flawlessly, and all the fonts are available to me. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks! Re: Huge fonts. I had the same problem with Nedit - huge fonts on the menu. I am searching now to discover a way to shrink them down. On Thu, 27 Apr 2000 13:22:41 -0500, you wrote:

If this has to do with installing the mozilla fonts... You might have put the new fonts at the top of your font path (in /etc/XF86Config). If so, just put them at the bottom. Using Arial(Mozilla) instead of Times makes a big diff. -- B. L. I use them at 12pt at 1152x864 and they look OK. They are big, but that's the point. Remember that they are designed to look like Windows browsers, and Windows browsers normally use big fonts.

If the *tiny* default fonts didn't irk you then these fonts probably aren't for you. david [ using 12 pt. helvetica (mozilla) at 800x600 -- just right ] -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
