Maybe this could be helpfull from previous posts: Am Dienstag, 11. Oktober 2005 18:30 schrieb Cameron Seader:
I believe amarok supports mp3, meaning it has its own mp3 solution built in. -Cameron There are several ways. One is to install Realplayer and the helix-plugins for amarok and gstreamer. Another one is to install libmad and mad, or just everything from packman, what plays multimedia :-).

I'm not sure but I think there will be no problem. Try to install it and if you have problems just uninstall it. I don't think there will be any problem. -- Damian Mihai Liviu Phone: +40741226993 URL: http://liviudm.blogspot.com

Nowhere. In YaST add [1] or a mirror from [2] as an Installation Source. Also add the guru repository [3] and the SUSE-Linux-10.0-GM-Extra repository [4]. Install RealPlayer, amarok-helix (I'm not sure but I think you must uninstall the version of amarok provided by SUSE and install the Guru's version) and you're done :-) [1]http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/SL-10.0-OSS/inst-source/ [2]http://www.opensuse.org/Mirrors_Released_Version [3]http://www.opensuse.org/Additional_YaST_Package_Repositories#Guru [4]Protocol: HTTP/FTP server name: ftp.belnet.be Directories: mirrors/ftp.suse.com/suse/i386/10.0/SUSE-Linux10.0-GM-Extra/ Best wishes, -- Damian Mihai Liviu Phone: +40741226993 URL: http://liviudm.blogspot.com

the best way is to add packman[1] to the yast sources it as updated rpms with mp3 support [1]packman.rsync.zmi.at/suse/10.0/ or any other mirror From a mail of Henne Vogelsang:
You can do the following now:
y2pmsh source -a http://packman.iu-bremen.de/suse/10.0/ y2pmsh<enter> update solve commit
If you have bmp, xmms or kdemultimedia* installed they will get updated to newer versions that have mad support included. Also there are a lot of other packages now. Basically everything you got from the MultiMedia Option packs in 9.3 is on packman now.

Actually there are some website that already make a manual for this. I'm also try to make it as right now my laptop can play MP3 and DVD (watching fina fantasy VII.. yiipii.. :D). Anyway, here's some webstie that have the manual. http://www.thejemreport.com/mambo/content/view/178/42/ http://www.plainfaqs.org/linux/dvdplay/ Hints: add packman.iu-bremen.de/suse/10 into your source directory, search xine, choose 'All in this list > update if newer version available'. It will update and download lib-xine, win32codec and some other stuff.. anout 40Mb. And if you'd like to play DVD, just download libdvdcss from http://download.videolan.org/pub/libdvdcss/1.2.9/rpm/libdvdcss2-1.2.9-1.i386.... And your done.. good luck :) -- Arie Reynaldi Zanahar reymanx at gmail.com http://www.reynaldi.or.id
