Hi all, sorry if this is the wrong place to ask this. I would appreciate any help with this, or a pointer on a more appropriate place to look. I am using openSUSE 10.2. I am trying to put some presentations together using OpenOffice Impress (version 2.0.4, build 2.0.4.7), and I want to include some graphs generated with gnuplot (version 4). I generate these as eps files. Within Impress, eps is listed as a known graphics file format, but trying to insert this image results in an error: "Unknown Graphics Format". As a workaround, I have found that, using another program (xfig), I can import the eps figure from gnuplot, and then simply export as an eps figure. gnuplot.eps -> import into xfig -> export xfig.eps No other steps are taken. The resulting xfig.eps file IS recognized by Impress and gets displayed more or less correctly. However, if that image is resized in Impress, some of the lines go missing, fonts become jagged/blurry, etc. These are things I would expect from a bitmapped image, but this is not how I understand eps files to work (which is one of the reasons I prefer to work with eps files). Based on this and some other experimentation with xfig export options, It almost appears that some sort of preview image is included within the generated eps file and THAT preview image is what is shown by Impress - does anyone know if this is true? I suppose I could figure out the size of figures I need at the end, get gnuplot to generate the figure at this size, do the xfig thing and have a useable file at the end, but I don't really look forward to doing that with all of the figures that I would like to include.
