Hi, I've found the Liteon drives very good although it seems to prefer + format disks over the - format. I had no problems burning + DVD r / DVD rw with both Suse 9.0 and Slackware 9.1 using K3B. They're reasonably priced as well. Hope this helps Richard G. -- Registered Linux User: 256848

Please be sure to post your success on the Newegg.com and other user-feedback sites noting the SuSE/Linux compatibility. You may also want to copy your kudos to LG to encourage them to list Linux as supported (without the need for special software cluttering ones HDD as is necessary for M$). -- dmc ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Your journey with God continues here ... -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 As a follow up to others in the future looking for a great DVD+/-RW drive... The LG 4081B is a great little DVD+/-RW/-RAM/CD-RW drive. After installing (as master on the secondary controller) and enabling scsi emulation it's working like a charm... Now to find a site with Linux compatible Firmware updates for it...
