RE: [SLE] installing and using two monitors

As I mentioned this is usually a function built into the laptop and requires not set-up whatever the OS. Plug the second monitor into the appropriate connection on the laptop. Press the F7 key once will turn off the laptops monitor and turn on the second monitor. Press F7 key again should turn on the laptop monitor whilst maintaining the display on the second monitor. Press F7 again will turn off the second monitors display. I do this frequently for presentations. Thank you again. The reason I asked about setting things up is this: Linux provides for different setups (e.g. scan rates) for different monitors. The reason for this seems to be that one can injure a monitor if one has the wrong scan rates, and monitors work best within certain scan rate limits. So, I suppose I should have a way to set different parameters up for the different monitors. Thanks again dj tuchler On Thu, 2002-09-05 at 11:40, Keith Jacobs wrote:

On my laptop and under Window$ you can have different contents on the two screens (like having two video cards). Is this possible under Suse ? Maybe even 3 screens (TV out), although I never tried this. Keith Jacobs wrote:
