Hi, I know someone told me this before but I've forgotten ... when something is installed via RPM where does it get installed to (I mean how do you find out)? James C. And if you use KDE and the GUI, on the main menu go to System>kpackage then do File>FindPackage, type the name of the package you're interested in and, if it is installed yuo will see two tabs on the right side, Click File List and you can see where everything was placed. Granted it;s not as simple as remembering all the command line stuff but if you have an aversion to command lines, it's another way to find such things as you seek.

Another way is to rpm -qa | grep name. This one is good if you know something about the package, but not much, it greps the whole rpm db for the word you search for. -- Thanks, Andrew McCall Internet/Linux System Administrator I.C.T.
