I have changed my Windows XP boot.ini appropriately also but I don't think it's actually even managing to get that far. help would be appreciated

When I installed SuSE 9.0 on a new disk(hda) and moved my old Windows and Linux install to the second IDE channel, I had to change the menu.lst as follows: title Windows root (hd1,0) map (hd0) (hd1) map (hd1) (hd0) chainloader +1 Good luck.
