I have a 200GB HDD as Primary Master and a 60GB as Slave the 200GB contains SuSE and of course, GRUB. the 60GB contains GRUB (but not in use obviously) Windows XP & SuSE (my old installation) I will shortly be deleting the second partition (SUSE) on the 60GB. Windows XP used to boot as primary master and now whenever I select the entry from GRUB (I did update GRUB) the computer instantly "reboots". here is what I have setup grub as (bare necessary info): Disk Order: /dev/hda, /dev/hdb Sections: SuSE Linux 9: *(on hd(0,0))* Windows XP: type: Other root: hd(1,0) chainloader: +1 I have changed my Windows XP boot.ini appropriately also but I don't think it's actually even managing to get that far. help would be appreciated --------------------------------- SUSE - 1,000 Possibilities, not 1,000 Vulnerabilities Olipro - GTA Global <Olipro@GTAGlobal.net>

When I installed SuSE 9.0 on a new disk(hda) and moved my old Windows and Linux install to the second IDE channel, I had to change the menu.lst as follows: title Windows root (hd1,0) map (hd0) (hd1) map (hd1) (hd0) chainloader +1 Good luck.
