[opensuse] New update breaks Seamonkey email
I just installed the latest Seamonkey update and now the email part is unusable. The first thing I noticed is there's no message or header area visible. It's just a big blue-grey area. Also, it's missing several iterms from the Mail tool bar. There's no "File", "Edit", "View" "Help" listed. In short, it's useless. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

2.7.1? It works for me on 11.4 & KDE3. Deleting startupCache.4.little from your profile's startupCache DIR might be enough to fix it. Switching theme might also help, as might starting in safe mode. I'm running it on 12.1 I have lightning and gcontactsync installed. I can't tell you what else, as that info is now inaccessible. I'll have to try deleting that file, but I can't change themes, as that menu is no longer available. Even pressing the Alt key combo for the missing items doesn't work. I'm currently using Thunderbird for email, but prefer Seamonkey. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

This implies the browser part is usable, which if true means you can change the theme. -- "The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive." What about deleting startupCache.4.little from your profile's startupCache DIR or starting in safe mode? cf. https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=686187 -- "The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive." Have you tried a virgin profile? Reading http://www.seamonkey-project.org/releases/seamonkey2.7/ might be helpful if you haven't already. -- "The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive." A new profile seems to work, but I didn't see anything in that 2.7.1 info that was useful. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

You tried all the links under the heading "Other Resources and Links"? If you'd tried http://www.seamonkey-project.org/community#irc < irc://irc.mozilla.org/seamonkey > several hours ago you'd likely already have your original profile working. Sorry, I don't do IRC. I've never been a fan of text chats. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Neither is two. I suggested three things to try. Which two didn't help? Did you try the first while SM was completely shutdown? Maybe the problem survives closing and what's needed is logging out and back in before deleting or starting in safe mode. Also, what did you update to 2.7.1 from? 2.0.x used other caches than startupCache/. Maybe they need to be deleted too to make your old profile work. Sorry, I thought I answered about SM in another message. I installed 12.1 shortly after release and only updated Seamonkey when it came up in Online Updates. So, whatever was previous there is what was previously installed. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Now that you've thoroughly proven your talent for quoting suggestions without writing anything in response that suggests you read and understood more than a small fraction of what you quoted, I'm done trying. -- "The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive."
