hello, i'm new to suse, but i got those nVidia drivers working with mandrake. downloaded the drivers via YOU they seemed to have installed (?) - got the nV splashscreen. i changed to 3D in sax, rebooted and got a corrupted, half painted login. what is the procedure to get nVidia and 3D working properly. thanks.
What version are you using? Ive got a Geforce 4 MX 440 running great with
the drivers from YOU, under 8.1?

Try rerunning SuSEconfig from a console (as root) in runlevel 3, then switch back to runlevel 5 or reboot. Step by step: - From the hosed up screen, press CTRL-ALT-F1. You should get a terminal - Login as root - Type "init 3" - Once "runlevel 3 achieved" or similar pops up, type "SuSEconfig" - Once done, type "init 5" or "reboot". Rebooting is probably somewhat better since it will flush the buffers on the video adapter. -- John LeMay KC2KTH Senior Enterprise Consultant NJMC | http://www.njmc.com | Phone 732-557-4848 Specializing in Microsoft and Unix based solutions

I have had little luck using SaX2 to enable 3D. I just edit /etc/XFConfig86 directly. I can send you my file if it will help. Jeffrey
