I installed Acroread in openSuSE 12.3. There is a problem where boxes appear in place of text in the menus etc. The document appears fine. Any idea on the cause & fix? tnx jk -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

I fixed the problem with this command: pango-querymodules > "/etc/pango/pango.modules" -- Matthias -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

That did it. tnx -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

I fixed the problem with this command:
pango-querymodules > "/etc/pango/pango.modules"
this works only on 32bit machines or 32bit software on 64bit machines. on 64bit machines you also have the tool pango-querymodules-64 which configures the modules for 64bit software. so for acroread, which is a 32bit only software you have to use pango-querymodules on 32bit and on 64bit systems. and for 64bit native software needing pango you have to use pango-querymodules-64. but you can't write the result of both commands into the same file /etc/pango/pango.modules.... so you have to do it with these commands: pango-querymodules > /usr/lib/pango/1.8.0/modules.cache pango-querymodules-64 > /usr/lib64/pango/1.8.0/modules.cache a modules.cache file for each architecture. -- Rainer Klier Research & Development xyzmo Software GmbH, SIGNificant E-Signature Solutions A-4052 Ansfelden, Haiderstraße 23 Tel.: +43 7229 88060-0, E-Mail: rainer.klier@xyzmo.com -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

but you can't write the result of both commands into the same file /etc/pango/pango.modules....
so you have to do it with these commands:
pango-querymodules > /usr/lib/pango/1.8.0/modules.cache pango-querymodules-64 > /usr/lib64/pango/1.8.0/modules.cache
a modules.cache file for each architecture.
I was wondering about those other two files. I have another computer that's still on 12.2. I was considering just copying everything over. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
