Q: Besides local.cf, is there another file that SuSE 9 would use to set SA configurations? I'm wondering if my Bayes if learning anything. I'm using sa- learn, but not sure it's working right. <<JAV>>

the .spamassassin/ directory of the user invoking spamassassin has some files bayes_* which will get newer modification time if it's learning correctly. -- Mads Martin Joergensen, http://mmj.dk "Why make things difficult, when it is possible to make them cryptic and totally illogical, with just a little bit more effort?" -- A. Okay, this is going to sound stupid, but here goes. I only have a .spamassassin folder in root's homedir. I'm using SA to do system wide scans. So when I sa-learn, I'm going to the user's directory and doing this myself, su'd. Should I have the user shell in and do this themselves instead? For what it's worth, root's bayes files are changing timestamps. <<JAV>> ---------- Original Message ----------- From: Mads Martin Joergensen <mmj@panther.mmj.dk> To: suse-linux-e@suse.com Sent: Thu, 18 Dec 2003 20:08:07 +0100 Subject: Re: [SLE] SpamAssassin

No, that's perfectly fine. But is the setup that makes the system wide spam checking done by the root user? -- Mads Martin Joergensen, http://mmj.dk "Why make things difficult, when it is possible to make them cryptic and totally illogical, with just a little bit more effort?" -- A. P. J.

Well, what I have is a procmail filter to call spamc and spamd is running as a daemon. You may recall assisting me in IRC when you created that 2.60 rpm (thanks again, BTW). I just noticed the /etc/mail/spamassassin/local.cf was very small. I haven't changed it (yet) and wondered if there was another config file. I know SuSE does things differently than what I have been familiar with and just wondered. :) So if I want to add anything, I assume it's to local.cf per usual. <<JAV>> ---------- Original Message ----------- From: Mads Martin Joergensen <mmj@panther.mmj.dk> To: suse-linux-e@suse.com Sent: Thu, 18 Dec 2003 22:01:49 +0100 Subject: Re: [SLE] SpamAssassin this
