Difference between nv and nvidia drivers
Hi: I have looked at the man page for nv and see that it is the XFree86 supplied driver for the NVIDIA chipset. Should this driver be used instead of nvidia if I am experiencing minor problems? Specifically, if I go to the web site http://webbook.nist.gov/chemistry/ I can search for a compound by name or formula successfully. If I click on the back arrow after my search is done Konqueror crashes! It used to not do this in SuSE 7.0. I have Qt-experimental and KDE 2.1 installed. KDE 2.1 comes from SuSE's site. Kind regards for any suggestions. -- Cheers, Jonathan
The nvidia driver (0.9-5 and higher) will work for GeForce2 and replaces the nv driver. I would suspect that you would end up with more problems if you went back to the nv driver. Unless you have non-GeForce2 nVidia hardware and the upgrade broke what was already working. KurtRR Jonathan Drews wrote:
