[opensuse] Live update from 11.4 to 12.1 problems
Hello all, I am trying to update with internet an OpenSuSE 11.4 to 12.1, then the following steps. But... i have a problem: i have followed the procedure found at this link: http://it.opensuse.org/SDB:Aggiornamento_del_sistema_ad_una_nuova_versione So, i have added the follow repository: # | Alias | Name | Enabled | Refresh --+----------------------------------+----------------------------------+---------+-------- 1 | Updates-for-openSUSE-12.1-12.1-0 | Updates for openSUSE 12.1 12.1-0 | Yes | Yes 2 | openSUSE-12.1-12.1-0 | openSUSE-12.1-12.1-0 | Yes | No 3 | repo-debug | openSUSE-12.1-Debug | No | Yes 4 | repo-debug-update | openSUSE-12.1-Update-Debug | No | Yes 5 | repo-non-oss | openSUSE-12.1-Non-Oss | Yes | Yes 6 | repo-oss | openSUSE-12.1-Oss | Yes | Yes 7 | repo-source | openSUSE-12.1-Source | No | Yes 8 | repo-update-non-oss | repo-update-non-oss | Yes | Yes The problem is the following: when i do a zypper ref, i have this error: Retrieving repository 'repo-update-non-oss' metadata [error] Repository 'repo-update-non-oss' is invalid. [|] Repository type can't be determined. Please check if the URIs defined for this repository are pointing to a valid repository. I have added this repository: zypper ar -f http://download.opensuse.org/update/12.1-non-oss/ repo-update-non-oss Adding repository 'repo-update-non-oss' [done] Repository 'repo-update-non-oss' successfully added Enabled: Yes Autorefresh: Yes URI: http://download.opensuse.org/update/12.1-non-oss/ Because i read on the procedure "if you are upgrading from a version like 12.1 or previous, add this repository" What i am doing wrong? Check with the English version, too. There may be differences. /a> zypper ar -f http://download.opensuse.org/update/12.1-non-oss/ Try "zypper ar -f -c ...." instead. It checks to see if the link exists. - -- Cheers, Carlos E. R. Uh, now the situation is very strange. After doing a live upgrade from 11.4 to 12.1, the system boots with 12.3 (!!!!!), with many problems... Obviously, you activated 12.3 repos instead. Have a look at your "zypper lr --details". - -- Cheers, Carlos E. R.
