I have encountered an error while trying to install v6.4 of SuSE PowerPC Linux on my beige G3 (System 8.6). I've partitioned the hard disk with a Mac format Linux boot partition and two unallocated partitions for Swap and Linux. I started the install from BootX App on CD 1 - it says CD 4 in the manual but I couldn't find BootX App on CD 4. I left the video driver checkbox unticked and typed 'ide0=noautotune' into the 'more kernel arguments' box as in the manual. Everything seems to go fine, up comes the penguin etc and I'm in the Linuxrc v1.1.6 window as in figures 2.4/5/6 and 2.7 in the manual. In figure 2.7 'choosing text or graphical YaST', no matter which I choose it loads a RAM disk then I get the error message 'an error occurred during install'. Any idea what might be the problem and how I go about solving it?
