news bridge or gmane?
Do you know if it's now possible to have a news bridge for suse mailing lists? a news.opensuse.org should be ideal, but a gmane working bridge could be possible (I never could make it work). I now follow suse-linux-e and it's a unpleasant experience. opensuse is sometimes going in the same way. I mean there are endless and unimportant discussion that makes hundred of OT mails. this is evident in suse-linux-e, and on opensuse, sorry to say so, but to have the very last gnome or kde version is the most uninteresting thing I never see. Kde is nearly at his top evolution (I don't really see what one can add that have really a meaning) and Gnome is probably not so far (I don't use it) That is not to say this discussion must not happen. If I had not to dowload it, I wouldn't care. That is why news are important. but there is more. on suse-linux-e, I use to let the questions alone, just dropping a look from time to time to see how they evolve. If I notice that no answer is given (and if I can do), I go back to the first post in archives and I answer... _NO_ I'm stuck!!! It's _not_ possible to answer from the archives... News don't have this problem. and it's an important reason to have them. thanks jdd -- http://www.dodin.net http://dodin.org/galerie_photo_web/expo/index.html http://lucien.dodin.net http://fr.susewiki.org/index.php?title=Gérer_ses_photos

I operate my own mail-news gateway, so it's definitely _possible_. Also, gmane already runs suse-linux-e as suse.linux.general. (plus a few other suse lists).

I tried signing up one or two opensuse lists with gmane some time ago, but it failed because of some anti-spam mechanism or whatever it was. /Per Jessen, Zürich

Seems to have worked after all - gmane.linux.suse.opensuse.devel gmane.linux.suse.opensuse.user /Per Jessen, Zürich
