[opensuse] KDE Basket crash - won't recover
I like the baskets note taking application. Please don't advise me to use something else, that's not what this is about. Before exporting I want to alter some of the HTML to add in-line urls. You can use an external editor for things like this. I've done this before. Many times. This time the editor and the application got a bit confused and hung. Killing the editor crashed baskets. I've had this happen a couple of times before. Baskets can't recover; it tries rendering and whatever the rendering code is, it hangs ... "... Loading ..." Once when this happened I simply restored from the last backup. Another time I drilled down and found corrupt HTML in one of the notes. I suspect that's the problem this time, but the HTML BasKet produces is almost as bad as that from MS-Word. Almost. And of you run it through 'tidy', BasKet doesn't like that, things its corrupt and won't render .... "... Loading ..." *sigh* The developer's site has a roadmap about all new nifty features but nothing about robustness or error handling or crash recovery. So I've two problems: 1. How can I make developers (and one in particular) be more concerned with non-features issues the way Bill Gates issues the Security wake-up to Microsoft Developers without being a Bill Gates? 2. How can I automate BasKets recovery -- "The capacity to learn is a gift; The ability to learn is a skill; The willingness to learn is a choice." - Brain Herbert, -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
