I did an ssh -X to another box on my net. Ran kbear from that box, and tried to do a site synch. I've never done this before. The synch aborted with errors and deleted files instead of updating them. I assume kbear is still under development and this is a small concern as I had backups. However, after I closed kbear, I had an icon showup in the dock apps space. It shows as "KBearSiteManagerDaemon1.0" This is on the box I did the ssh from. Everytime I kill it, either by right clicking on it, or by killing its pid, it dies and comes back. I don't find any parent process for it.
