[opensuse] Machine booting to grub prompt
I did some updates on my openSUSE box (includiing kernel) and now when i rebooted, I'm brought to the grub> prompt. How can I troubleshoot to fix? I realize I should know this, but drawing a blank. Thanks. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

The grub prompt means grub is working, but there is some other defect in configuration, such as missing or defective initrd or kernel or /boot/grub/menu.lst. Read through http://www.gnu.org/software/grub/manual/grub.html#Troubleshooting and try to boot using the grub prompt to manually select a root, kernel and initrd, which should tell you if the kernel & initrd exist and/or are usable. -- "Let your conversation be always full of grace."
