Someone asked me for the link for HP drivers, which I thought I had
lost, but no I found it again; Message from John
You can get drivers for the various HP Officejet printer/fax/scanners from here.

The scanning part I believe works with SANE.

I believe that DAT tape drives normally handle the compression by
themselves automatically. You don't have to turn it on.
