Why Red Hat is better than SuSE:
1. The DHCP client works for persistant connections, like a cable modem. I've tried SuSE 5.3 and 6.0, and still can't get it to work.
Point taken. I hope this issue will be solved with the DHCP client in 6.1...

According to the maintainer of that package, this will be possible now. The DHCP client now only configures the first interface, all other will be left untouched.
