Hi Folks The situation: I'm using a Microsoft wireless mouse and keyboard through an Adderview box ... so I'm sharing the same monitor, keyboard and mouse on two systems. The O/S involved are suse 8.1 vanilla and the O/S that dare not speak it's name. The problem: For linux (obviously): when I boot up in text mode the keyboard is recognised just fine, but when I get into X, the keyboard is non-responsive. However, if I restart the X-server then it will recognise key presses ... wierd huh? Needless to say this problem doesn't exist with direct connections. Now, I can probably live with restarting the x-server after each boot ... it takes no time ... but I can just imagine Anne's reaction ... she's already pretty unimpressed that the printer doesn't yet work (new pci usb card on the way - it appears that despite having six USB connections already, the VIA chipset is so rubbish that I can't use any of them for a real printer). Any suggestion as to what to do so the X-server get's it right first time gratefully received! Cheers, Bryan
