Konqueror - <div> is this a bug?
I eperience small problem with Konqueror 3.3.0 (SuSE V9.2) and assume it is a bug. A web page serves as an input form and 'pop-up' help (javascript) is associated with each element on the form, i.e. hovering the mouse over an input field will popup a little window with help as to what goes into the input field. This 'pop-up' help window is usually displayed on top of the input boxes, i.e. some of the input elements will be hidden by the help window. When the input field is however a text area, the 'pop-up' help window is displayed behind the text area, making it virtually useless. The javascript is pretty much like http://www.knopper.net/style/infobox.js on http://www.knopper.net., which uses a <div> statement at the begin of the page to position the pop-up help. What is happening here and how can this be fixed? Peter

It looks the same to me with Mozilla as it does with Konqueror from KDE 3.4.2 level "b". Can you provide a screen shot, or specifically indicate one of the problematic areas of a page? Perhaps you need to upgrade your KDE? Steven

I have the same with text areas and drop down (select) lists in Mozilla and Internet Explorer. It seems that those two field types have an always on top type of property (which is not settable). I normally hide the field if I want to display a <div> over it. Albert -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Free Edition. Thanks for your response. The text area is behind in Internet Explorer, but the drop down boxes are on top there. So, the only way in displaying the pop up help correctly is, as you say, to hide the obstructing fields manually. Peter
