I can't print with Maple. The problem may be that the jre used by Maple needs to be upgraded. I have instructions for doing this below, but I don't know how to do step ii. Can someone please explain step ii for me? Thanks. --------------------
Replacing the Maple jre:
To do this:
i. you first have to download a new Java Runtime Environment ( http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp ) JRE 1.6.0_13 is the most recent version.
When I look for a file to download, there are two: jre*.bin and jre*.rpm.bin. Which is the one I want?
ii. Then install this, it should create a folder called "jre1.6.0_13" or "jre6".
How do I do the install? With rpm? If so, what is the proper command?
iii. Copy this folder in to the <maple12> folder.
iv. Rename the jre.X86_64_LINUX folder "jre.backup".
v. Rename the jre1.6.0_13 folder "jre.X86_64_LINUX"
Of course if you have a 32-bit installation it will be "IBM_INTEL_LINUX" in stead of "X86_64_LINUX".
Maple will now be using the updated Java. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
