Newsleecher runs under wine also, that's what I use

I was wondering is there anything for linux that is comparable to either Newsbin (http://www.newsbin.com) or Newsleecher (http://www.newsleecher.com). I know there's PAN but I like the fact with both of the above you have a que that can be manipulated, so the order of downloads and priority can be adjusted. Knode, doesn't take say all

You'll find Qnode is installable from all of the SUSE versions. Fred -- "Ballmer is no more designed for the art of persuasion than the Abrams tank is for delivering meals on wheels."

Thanks I was wondering about that. Looks good to me looks like its a totally manual setup so what I need is a good list of these alt.special.interest news groups to search through. Suggestions?? CWSIV

I suggest you use 'pan' instead. It is on the SuSE pro distribution. From my point of view pan is a much more mature product. Knode works but is far less intuitive in use. -- Regards, Graham Smith ---------------------------------------------------------

I know this isn't the coolest of solutions but XEmacs & Emacs both have a newsreader available. Just a thought. -Robert Pollard
If you use gnome you may want to check out straw (its got a gtk
interface), its not part of the distro but has a nice interface, and
I'm sure there are some rpm's out there. I used to use newsreaders
until I discovered google news alerts :"), back in my gentoo days.
