Kreate CD works in simulation mode but ...
Having SuSe 8.1 satisfactory running I wanted to copy a cd with a lot of fotographs in jpg fromat. First I ran the program KreateCD in simulation mode. That went very welll. The lights from my cd rw where working perfect and every looked so good that I forgot all the unsuccesfull trlals with earlier versions of Suse (one succesfull write only ;-)). I started to do the real write sequence but much to my regret the writing was not succesfull. The relatively short time before the writing sequence aborted gave me following info: "Performing OPC" and more or less at the end "OPC failed" The Fifo buffer which nicely filled up to 100% during the simulation remained blank. How can I get the cd writing to work? Is more info neccesary?

If you want to be sure, just use cdrecord. Do: cdrecord -scanbus to see your devices cdrecord -v -eject -dummy -speed=30 device=0,1,0 myimage.iso remove -dummy for the real write -- use Perl; #powerful programmable prestidigitation

remove -dummy for the real write
Oops that should be: cdrecord -v -eject -dummy speed=30 dev=0,1,0 myimage.iso ^ ^ -- use Perl; #powerful programmable prestidigitation
