[opensuse] Signing a PDF
Hi, I would like to digitally sign a pdf, with my e-id card. I made the document in LibreOffice and I exported this as a pdf. How do I sign that pdf ? When exporting the pdf in LibreOffice, there is a dialog, which has a tab-sheet to digitally sign the pdf. Unfortunately I seem unable to select to use my e-id card. With Thunderbird, I can successfully sign a message (this message e.g.) with my e-id card and in Firefox, I can authenticate with the card. So, any hints are welcome, B.T.W. that with the Belgian e-id card, but probably the procedure for other cards would be the same. Thanks, Koenraad.

My Linux users also have to sign pdfs with smartcard signatures. But the only way we can do this is by running MS Windows in a virtual machine that can see the smartcard USB interface. We then use Adobe Reader to do the actual signing. We would GREATLY like to dump Windows and look forward to the day when okular/kpdf/etc can handle pcsc/coolkey access to smartcards. Or, does Adobe have copyrights/patents on pdf digital signing? Regards, Lew -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
