My SuSE 8.2 laptop has 2 network interfaces. A builtin assgined to eth0 and a PCMCIA wireless card. Both are set to acquire IP addresses via DHCP. When I have the PCMCIA card plugged in, the routing table does not include the default route, so I need to add it manually: Destination Gateway Genmask Flags MSS Window irtt Iface 192.168.0.0 0.0.0.0 255.255.255.0 U 0 0 0 eth1 If I execute rcnetwork restart, the routing table is correct, so it appears to be a problem at boot time. If I remove the PCMCIA card and replace it, the routing table loses its default route. I suspect that there is a subtle bug either in etc/sysconfig/network/scripts/ifup-route or etc/sysconfig/network/ifup-pcmcia-eth If anyone has an idea, you might save me some work in debugging this.
