[opensuse] Kmail - Messages Not Displaying After Update
Having recently updated both TW and 42.3, Kmail does not display incoming emails. If a message is selected, the headers in reading window are visible but the main body of the messages are not displayed. Anyone else having these issues and any suggestions on how to resolve it? I am using evilution at the moment until this is resolved. Regards. Sudhir Anand.

Cache corrupted? Indexes corrupted? Very common with kmail5 currently. Try to open akonadicontrol (terminal akonadicontrol). Go to the folder you have a problem with and right click. Clear cache. Close akonadicontrol. akonadictl restart The try to open Kontakt to see if messages are populating and displaying in the folder. Give it some seconds it will take some time especially if you have a lot of them. If this repeats all the time, you may will have to archive mails and to erase all data re-importing them or to migrate to another users. Liked the solution you mentioned and after you need every tool to work with kmail I looked into the described procedure. Problem: there is mo akonadicontrol on my machine and yast does not provide this command. There is the program akonadiconsole that you have to install (zypper in akonadiconsole). When you have cleared cache, you have to a terminal and run the commands of akonadictl restart (or fsck and / or vacuum in case). The reason is that the "restart akonadiserver" in akonadiconsole is broken and will crash with segfault the program. I did report this BTW and this resulted a duplicate (some KDE bugs have thousands of duplicates because they hit several programs and people have trouble to find out that the crash is related.
