It may be permissable but bear in mind that the DNS nameservers are not used like you might expect. Only AFTER the first nameserver times out or actively refuses connection will the second one be tried. If the first name server is available the second third, etc. will never be used. So using one name server from each provider is usually sufficient. I'm not sure about the domains bit, I think they are only used to tack on to host names that do not contain a domain. Someone is sure to correct me on this point if I am wrong. -- _____________________________________ John Andersen -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

The different DNS servers may be of use, if one's down. And the domains are used, as you say, when no extension is specified. Of course you have to realize that if you try for a server that has the same name (such as "mail"), you'll have to specify the fully qualified domain name for the one in the 2nd domain. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

The question (and the warning) about the two servers has already be answered. If you want to try local names in two domains, you need to use the option "search" instead of "domain".
