POP3/IMAP Server for SuSE/Postfix
We are a small ISP wishing to implement a POP3/IMAP server in conjuction with our \SuSE 9.2/Postfix email servers. Requirements are: 1. Must be secure 2. Must support virtual domains/users without requiring a Linux login account 3. Easy to install/configure/maintain 4. Must support multiple POP3/IMAP clients like Outlook, Thunderbird, pine, and web mail (squirrelmail, openwebmail or the like) 5. Preferably be available on the SuSE 9.2 media I know Courier IMAP and Cyrus IMAP support virtual domains/users and are available on SuSE media but have no feel for how secure they are or their ease of use. Are there any other open source packages which would it these requirements? (At least initially, the POP3/IMAP server would run on one of the email servers as opposed to a separate system.) Thank you, Lucky Leavell

I have been running Courier IMAP for several years on the internal LAN. A month ago I added IMAPS and opened up the firewall to the Internet. There have been no attempted break-ins. HTH, Jeffrey
