Hi, 1. I use 10.0, and recently, in the last few days, a usb icon has appeared on my desktop. It is owned by root/root. I am signed on as user. If I do a: umount /proc/bus/usb, then the icon will disappear from the desktop, but it reappears on the next boot [it's a dell laptop] 2. 10.0 used to automount USBs, it does not anymore.
