Roland Dyroff, 33, will continue to be chief executive officer (CEO) of SuSE Linux AG and direct the internationally-oriented company group. Dirk Hohndel, 32, Chief Technology Officer (CTO), is the head of technology and development, and Roland Giebitz, 38, Chief Operations Officer (COO), will oversee finance and operations. ``In the past year, SuSE Linux AG increased the number of distribution and service centers from two to seven. With revenue of 22 million dollars and over 250 staff members, SuSE is one of the leading companies in the Linux field worldwide,'' summarizes company founder Roland Dyroff. ``We will consolidate our strong position in the market and take a leadership position worldwide in the coming business year. To do this we not only have the personnel and structural means, but also the financial means available, through the involvement on the part of Apax Partners and Intel.'' Dirk Hohndel's CTO responsibilties, apart from the technical direction of SuSE development, are the expansion and development of strategic alliances. Dirk Hohndel studied Mathematics at the University of Wuerzburg, before working as a software engineer at the AIB Software Corporation and at Platinum Technology, then as a Unix architect at the Deutscher Bank in Frankfurt. As vice-president, Hohndel is in charge of the XFree86(tm) project, which represents a technical milestone for Linux development. Roland Giebitz, as commercial director (Chief Operations Officer, COO), completes the board trio. He will focus on adjusting operational processes to the rapidly growing structure, especially in view of the global orientation of the company. Roland Giebitz studied business economics in Frankfurt and earned his MBA at the London Business School. He has worked for McKinsey & Co., Duesseldorf; AGAB Aktiengesellschaft fur Anlagen und Beteiligungen, Frankfurt; Strategic Decisions Group, Richmond (England); and Thimm Verpackung GmbH & Co., Northeim; and Sartorius AG, Gottingen (both in Germany).
