I was wrong about the number of files open in my previous email. There are actually about 700-750 files open at the time I get the error. The error is a file table overrun. There are 2 things I need to know. (1) Is there a way to increase the maximum number of files open? (2) How is the limit increased (Is it a text file or does it require editing kernel source)?
